Waterfall abseiling is not very much popular adventure in Sri Lanka as its cost is high. This is good and the best activity to develop the self-confidence.
Once we came to the facilitator we all went to the Handun fall at Kithulgala/ Belilena. Handun fall is about 60m high. It is the best fall to have this experience.
There will be an instructor with 2 other helpers. One of them will show you a trial and the helpers will be at the bottom of the fall. They use the branded good equipment as per the global procedure. In their small introduction, listen to everything as they want to follow during the abseiling.
One by one will do the activity and the time per person is depending as per your wish of abseiling, walking through the rocky plain. You have to go down by your own effort, because the main rope should be operated by us. The safety rope is just catch by the instructor at top. We can walk and fall along the water as our wish and we can release our hand. The rocky plain is totally sleeper and the water falling like it hit us.
Bottom pool is very deep and that is a best place to have a bath.
Remember that this fall is about 60m high and the Mannakethi fall is about 30m high. Many books, sources carry that the Handun fall high as 30m, and its wrong. Handun/ Sandun fall is a 60m high waterfall as we measured it.
We thank Ceylon Adventures as they give this opportunity to us.
